JOHANNESBURG – President of the South Africa National Congress party chairman who continues tonight and packed on Monday morning, when the legendary launch of Nelson Mandela’s new leader was announced later.
The new ANC leader may be the president of South Africa. More than 4,700 ANCs have met in the suburbs of Johannesburg to vote for new party leaders when President Jacob Zuman ends up as a candidate for two conditions.
The two presidential candidates are former Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, formerly a member of the African Union, Zoqa and President Cyril Ramaphosa, an increasingly critical president.
After the consulate began slowly due to disputes over delegation accreditation, new leadership voting began on Sunday evening and continued on Monday morning until late. At night, delegates sit at the conference center and sleep in their seats waiting for the vote.
The competition looks elegant and both candidates can win, say observers. Ramaphos was at ANC stores on Sunday, but the Dlamini-Zuman camp told local media that his fans were campaigning very much at the weekend.
Some leading leaders of the ANC have violated tradition and shared their views on how they voted on social media – an extraordinary deal for those who want to do business behind closed doors.
Minister Fikile Mbalula, Zuman’s alliance, revived early Monday morning that he chose “his mother’s daughter” Dlamini-Zuma, an Islamic woman.
ANC national press officer Zizi Kodwa and the head of Whip Jackson Mthembu reported that they voted for Ramaphosa. Mthembu said he would vote for the vice president “and five irresponsible leaders” to save the party and the country. “We must!” He writes.
The ANC’s reputation was attacked during Zuma’s term and threatened to split the longest-running liberation party in Africa. Keeping the ANC together is an important topic in the meeting.
“In all its manifestations, the combined group has become the biggest threat to the organization,” Zuma said warmly of the speech he received at the opening ceremony of the conference. “Unity is what makes the ANC and South Africa successful.”
