Towards the end of last year, Gosha Rubchinskiy revealed that he will hold his next show – not at Paris Fashion Week, where he used, but in Russia. In particular, he chose Kaliningrad, the capital of the eponymous province, which is located between Poland and Lithuania along the Baltic coast.

Today, the day of the show, it becomes quite clear why Rubchinskiy have chosen this location: adidas. In continuation of last season, which saw him collaborating with Italian sportswear brand Fila, Kappa, and Sergio Tacchini, the designer has teamed up with the German company, which has historical ties with Russia.

Perfect place to Rubchinskiy

Sports teams of Russia and the Soviet Union have always used the uniforms adidas, you see, and the label has a special place in Russian culture. The Kaliningrad before the Second World War, the city was German – in fact, place (a “youth culture”) is one of many examples of German architecture there.
